The Brachial Plexus Palsy Foundation (BPPF) began in 1995 after the birth of our son Andrew, who suffered a severe brachial plexus injury to his right arm. Immediately, we knew that we were going to find ways to help with education and treatment of this injury.

In its short tenure, the Foundation has been able to contribute thousands of dollars to Texas Children's Hospital (Houston, TX), Shriner's Hospital For Children (Philadelphia, PA), Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, MD), Dr. Rahul Nath, Dr. Scott Kozin, and Dr. Alan Belzburg - to aid in their efforts in research and treatment of brachial plexus injuries. The BPPF has also donated funds to brachial plexus groups around the nation including the United Brachial Plexus Network, Inc. for their family/educational events.

With the help of many in our community - family, friends and businesses, we have and will continue to have fundraisers to secure funds for these causes, including an Annual Golf Outing. In addition to financial contributions, BPPF has sponsored and organized an Annual Brachial Plexus Family Picnic in the greater Philadelphia area for several years. This event has helped hundreds of families to network and build acquaintances and friendships with many families across the Mid-Atlantic States. BPPF has also provided a forum for parents with children who have suffered brachial plexus injuries to interact with doctors and therapists treating the condition. Please note that we do not accept donations from attorneys and that our family gatherings are paid for through entrance fees and our own fundraising.

The Foundation has helped answer many questions of parents regarding brachial plexus injuries and has provided valuable information for physicians and therapists via our web site.
